Saint John 2013
Bruce Gilden once remarked that “if you can smell the street” it’s a street photograph. I think, in his style, he was referring to a certain energy and grittiness portrayed by so many of New York and London’s famous street photographers.
In Saint John, the streets are mostly empty places of decay and isolation. You can walk 3 or 4 blocks a lot of places and you might never see another human. I hope that comes through, a little, in my photographs.
