My name is Dan Culberson, and I am a photographer and videographer from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. I like photography that is quiet and simple. I’m interested in exploring what it means for a photograph to be truthful, that is to represent something real about everyday life in as honest a way as possible.
This blog is a bit of a scrapbook for myself, as well as a way to share what I’m working on and my thoughts.
The posts on this blog are mostly about my personal, non-commercial still photography. Occasionally, I also post about the vintage photos I “rescue”. And sometimes I may post about video work, professional work, or other photographers as well.
I work full time in creating content, mostly video, for a tech company.
I use a variety of cameras, mostly Canon DSLRs, but also a Yashicamat 124G and a bunch of rangefinders from the 50′s, 60′s, and 70s. I especially like Olympus and Voigtlander rangefinders. Once in awhile I use an SX-70 and Impossible film.
